Sturdy by Design

As the name implies, the Merlin Sandstone is prepared to go the distance regardless of the terrain, be it loose sand, uneven dirt, or chipped stone. Sandstone is available in two configurations to reflect the diversity of riders and locations: Allroad (SS40) and Gravel (SS50). Meticulously crafted and tested in the harshest conditions, the Sandstone is race ready gravel bike that handles well on a variety of surfaces. With signature s-bend seatstays, oversized hand contoured s-bend chainstays, and additive manufacturing, the Sandstone blends remarkable acceleration, superb climbing, precision descending and lasting comfort into a clean, elegant design.

Sandstone 40 and 50

The Sandstone is available in two options: allroad and gravel, to complement your riding style and terrain. Intelligent design paired with a hand selected Reynolds Technology tubeset and 3D printed titanium weldments, yields a compliant gravel bike for the route less travelled. The Sandstone is available in 8 stock sizes.

Allroad: Sandstone 40

The Sandstone 40 is a modern allroad bike, equally capable on road and gravel. With Merlin’s custom 3D printed titanium chainstay yoke, the SS40 is capable of clearing a 700x40mm tire with short 420mm chainstays. The bike is designed to accommodate road drivetrains, giving you a narrow Q-factor and road gearing. The Sandstone 40 is the most versatile bike in our lineup: set it up as a lightweight and efficient endurance road bike or a fast and racy gravel bike.

Gravel: Sandstone 50

The Sandstone 50 merges the legendary ride quality of titanium with modern gravel bike design. Our custom 3D printed chainstay yoke is designed to clear the largest 700x50mm gravel tires on the market while maintaining short 430mm chainstays. Compared to the SS40, the SS50 has a longer wheelbase and more stable handling in the rough and loose roads. The SS50 is compatible with all 1x and 2x gravel drivetrains.
