Warranty Policy

Merlin Metalworks warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship for the following time periods from the date of original purchase. Please read below the conditions of warranty.*

Steel Frames: Lifetime Warranty to the Original Owner
Titanium Frames: Lifetime Warranty to the Original Owner
Carbon Fiber & Titanium Frames: Lifetime Warranty to the Original Owner

* Please note that “Specials” frames, i.e., those specifically sold as “Specials” are excluded from Merlin’s lifetime warranty.

Useful Life:

Let’s be Honest…

Every bike, including Merlin Metalworks frames have a useful life. For example, a frame built in 1995, has been ridden over 25 years. That is a really long time. Stated differently, nothing lasts forever. All bike frames should be periodically checked for indications of potential failures including cracks, corrosion, dents, deformation, and any other indications of potential problems. Regular safety checks like this are important. So, in this context, an older frame akin to this example has had a good “ride” and is under scrutiny as to qualifying for a lifetime warranty. WE ALWAYS DO OUR BEST TO HONOR OUR LIFETIME WARRANTY WITH OUR CUSTOMERS. Ask us for references if you would like.

Exclusions:

Our warranty does not cover any damage due to:

  1. Improper shipping and/or transportation

  2. Improper storage

  3. Improper use outside recommended riding guidelines

  4. Installation of components, parts or accessories not originally intended for use or compatible with Merlin Metalworks products

  5. Improper maintenance and/or product modifications

  6. Repair by an unauthorized person (i.e., not by Merlin Metalworks)

  7. Normal wear and tear

  8. Merlin Metalworks products purchased from unauthorized dealers, including but not limited to third-party interest sites (e.g. Amazon, eBay, etc.)

  9. External causes such as accidents, crashes, abuse, or other actions or events beyond our reasonable control.

Original Purchaser:

Our warranty is non-transferable and valid to the original purchaser.

This warranty is non-transferable and valid to the original purchaser of the product only. Claims under this warranty must be made directly through Merlin’s Customer Service team. Proof of purchase is required. This warranty does not cover cosmetic or structural damage arising from abuse or misuse including but not limited to damage caused by crashes or collisions, improper installation and or assembly, and improper maintenance. Any modifications, additions, or changes to the original product void the warranty. Wear from normal use or environmental exposure is not covered by this warranty. Merlin will repair or replace at its sole discretion any item or any portion of that item deemed defective under this warranty. Merlin will not be responsible for any shipping or dealer charges related to any warranty claim whether the claim is accepted by Merlin or not. Merlin does not warranty any material failure. Please remember: the warranty only applies to the original owner with proof of purchase. All claims must be processed through Merlin. Labor charges incurred from part changes, assembly, disassembly, and freight are the responsibility of the owner. The warranty offers no cash refunds.

Note: There are no exchanges or refunds or returns on all items marked and sold as ”online special, sale, clearance, closeout, or marked as discontinued.” All sales for such items are final.
